Green Moving Rhythms: A Tranquil and Stylish Medical Care Space

Creating a Unique Rehabilitation Clinic Experience

Green Moving Rhythms is a medical care space designed by Kuan-Chiao Chen that breaks away from the conventional rehabilitation clinic design. With its retro, tranquil, and stylish ambiance, it offers a unique experience for patients seeking medical care.

The main inspiration behind Green Moving Rhythms is the color green, symbolizing medical care. However, instead of using the commonly bright shade of green, the designer opted for a sophisticated algae green as the main hue. This, combined with rose gold accents and soft lighting, creates a space that stands out from typical rehabilitation clinics in Taiwan.

One of the standout features of Green Moving Rhythms is its efficient use of space. With only 50m2 available on the first floor, the designer utilized clear glass partitions to enhance visual penetrativity. In addition to the conventional reception desk, waiting area, and consulting room, the space also includes a small-scale yoga exercise classroom and a VIP massage room.

The design of Green Moving Rhythms incorporates various technical elements to bring the vision to life. The PVC floor, reception desk, and irregularly shaped treat-waiting chair feature varying cuttings and contrasting colors. By changing the floor colors and materials, different areas of the clinic are defined. The reception desk, composed of marble patterns and a deep-sea algae green colored backwall, introduces gradual changes in color and a fresh look to the medical care space. The exercise classroom, built with glass partitions and a full wall of clear mirror, not only visually enlarges the space but also ensures proper execution of exercise therapeutic treatments.

Green Moving Rhythms is located in Taipei, Taiwan and was completed on March 10, 2019. The design team, led by Kuan-Chiao Chen, aimed to create a more relaxed doctor visit experience for patients. The space layout avoids rigid and dull designs, incorporating bevel volumes at the entrance reception desk and waiting area to enhance visual variations.

This innovative design has been recognized with the prestigious Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020. The award acknowledges the outstanding creativity and resourcefulness of Green Moving Rhythms, which incorporates best practices in art, science, design, and technology to improve the quality of life for its users.
